My time in Ireland

I was lucky enough to live in Ireland for 14 years, this beautiful green gem of a country is definitely a place to see.
I grew up in a small city called, Galway.
It would be the more touristic location in Ireland, with its picturesque streets lined with colourful houses and the abundance of pubs that have been there for a quite long time.
There is always something going on in Galway, whether there would be street musicians performing or you would be lucky enough to see an actual live show, for free!
During the warmer summer months, the Salthill beach is worth a visit, while the water may never be as warm as in the more tropical countries, you'll still see courageous  Irish people attempting to brave the cold water.

The food, is pretty great too, with an abundance of seafood restaurants, you'll be spoilt for choice. And of course, if you are more of a meat lover, you always have the famous Irish beef dishes and plenty of steak restaurants. While also having many vegetarian options too,.

The nightlife is definitely something.  the Irish people love a good night any day of the week. The pubs also offer a lot of great finger food and vivacious live music.
While the beer can be a little pricey ( around 5+ EU per pint) you really have to try Guinness.

Galway is just one beautiful city, there is still a lot to see if you prefer something a little bigger and you consider yourself a city person, I recommend to see the capital city, Dublin.
A very busy place with a lot to offer.
Great for shopping, as there are plenty of huge shopping centres here, while also having beautiful parks to visit, such as the Stephens Green and the Pheonix park (where you can also visit the Pheonix park zoo!)
If you like museums and art galleries, then Dublin is the place for you, places like the National art gallery and the museum are worth a visit.

For those of you who are nature lovers, I highly recommend seeing the cliffs of Moher in County Clare, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Coast.

And if you are into hiking, then you must try the Croagh Patrick in County Mayo, it's a tough climb, I think it took me over three hours to get up there and another two to get back down.
Maybe for you hardcore hikers it's nothing, but I had a hard time getting up there, but the views made it worth it, offering truly magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.
It's also worth to mention that Crough Pattrick is also considered one of the holiest mountains,
the tradition of pilgrimage to this holy mountain stretches back over 5,000 years from the Stone Age until today. It's religious significance dates back to the time of the pagans, when the people were said to have gathered here to celebrate the beginning of harvest season.

It definitely adds more beauty to the mountain in my opinion.

So that's Ireland for you, of course, there are many more beautiful places to visit, those are just some of my top ones, I think that Ireland has something to offer for everyone, whether you are more of a nature lover, party goer or prefer to experience the more cultured things.

While I find that Ireland can be a little pricey in terms like, alcohol and eating out, yet certainly cheaper than Iceland or Switzerland (which I am also dying to see)

I hope you pay this green gem a visit, let me know down below if you have any more questions!

Happy Travelling! 😄
