How to keep grounded while on the road.

It can be overwhelming, all the daily dealings of stress caused by all things involving travel. Research, applications, apartment hunting, all that stuff can take a huge toll on your mind. And your body too, as they are both very well connected.
It's important to take some ''time out'' to re-charge and reflect. Whether it be a short guided meditation or a daily Yoga practice. I find that personally it really helps, to simply become involved in a practice and forget what is going on around you, even for a little while. I really like Yoga with Adriene, I find her practices to be very calm and comforting.

If yoga and meditation isn't your cup of tea, that is fine too. Find what works for you, what really helps you to blow off some steam. It could be running, cycling or hitting the gym. It's a good idea to check out what the area that you are staying in offers you, there is bound to be something for everybody.
Engaging in some form of exercise will help you to reduce stress, promoting better sleep, and increase your energy level. With a little advance planning and creativity, you can take your routine anywhere.

I cannot stress enough how much travelling can affect your whole body and mind. Especially if you had a good routine back home, it's important to stick with it in the best way you can.

I know that it can be hard to find the right time, especially when there is so much planning and exploring to do.
If you are like most digital nomads spending long hours sitting in front of your laptop, it's important to include some good stretches into your daily life.
Here are some helpful stretches for us who spend a lot of time sitting :

Try to get out and move as much as possible, body aches and pains are definitely not helpful while on the road I also think it's important to also include the things that you used to do in your daily life before to unwind,
it could be chilling on Netflix or even gaming. It's true that that stuff takes up a lot of time, but if you can balance it out, then there is no harm. Just because you are travelling and have begun this brand new lifestyle doesn't mean that you have to give up on everything that you used to enjoy in the past.
Sure, work is important, as is experiencing everything that the new country has to offer, but don't forget to do you too.

Remember to take care of your body and mind first, and the rest will follow.

Happy travelling! 😄
